Ashley B. Winstead is a partner in the Jacksonville office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. where she concentrates her practice on insurance defense litigation.  She has significant experience defending clients in general liability, professional liability, products liability and premises liability matters.  Her practice also includes defending employers in workers compensation matters.

A graduate of the University of Tennessee, in 2004 she received a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in political science.  Mrs. Winstead earned her Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida in 2007.  While in law school, she was a member of Phi Delta Phi Legal Honors Fraternity and the Criminal Law Society.

Mrs. Winstead is licensed to practice law in Florida.  She is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Middle and Northern Districts of Florida.  Mrs. Winstead is a member of the American Bar Association; the Florida Bar Trial Lawyers Section and the Young Lawyers Division; the Jacksonville Bar Association; the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association; and the Defense Research Institute.

Select representative matters:

  • Obtained defense verdict on behalf of a restaurant against claims of negligence in a premise liability, slip and fall matter.
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of the State of Florida Department of Transportation against claims of negligence during a road-widening project.
  • Obtained summary judgment for client related to claims of negligence in failing to warn of the presence of alligators on Big Talbot Island State Park, and failing to take adequate steps to prevent an attack.
