Jyoti M. Halsband is an associate in the New York office at Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Halsband handles a variety of employment law actions involving discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and restrictive covenants, in various state and federal courts throughout New York and New Jersey, in arbitration, mediation, and before administrative agencies, including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

In 1998, she commenced her legal career with the New York State Supreme Court as an Appellate Court Attorney for the Appellate Division, Second Department where she reviewed appellate records on appeal and briefs and prepared proposed opinions for various judges. The appeals concerned a variety of areas, including litigation involving contract, tort, real estate, civil procedure, insurance, matrimonial, family, and criminal law.

In 2001, Ms. Halsband co-founded her law practice in New Jersey specializing in employment litigation where she prosecuted various civil rights and employment discrimination law actions involving Title VII, ADA, FMLA, New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (NJLAD), New York State Human Rights Law (NYSHRL) and New York City Human Rights Law (NYCHRL). She has also litigated actions brought under the Worker's Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act in the U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts throughout the nation.

Ms. Halsband has also worked as an attorney with various law firms in New York and New Jersey defending corporations and insurers in employment, tort, commercial contracts, and civil rights actions. She has conducted and defended depositions, has argued motions including discovery and summary judgment; she drafted appellate briefs and has argued before the Appellate Division - First and Second Departments in New York and has drafted opposition to petitions for writs of certiorari to the United State Supreme Court.

Ms. Halsband received her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from New York Law School in 1997 and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Binghamton University, New York.

She is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey and is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of New York and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
