Maria S. Breen is an associate in the Orlando office at Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She focuses on insurance defense litigation, general liability claims, employment disputes, and personal injury litigation involving premises liability and motor vehicle negligence. Ms. Breen’s practice is also emphasized in representing long-term care facilities in both medical malpractice and employment claims including employment discrimination, wage and hour, whistleblower retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, disability leave and accommodation, and claims under the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).
Before joining QPWB, Ms. Breen was an attorney representing consumers in debt negotiation at a consumer protection law firm in Orlando. She handled Fair Credit Reporting Act cases and debt collection litigation. She has also served as Director and Florida House Counsel at a global litigation support services company where she assisted the general counsel in active litigation and discovery. She oversaw the company’s legal and compliance functions and negotiated licenses, vendor and employment contracts and commercial leases. Ms. Breen also has over 10 years of experience within the hospitality industry including working as supervisor for a luxury hotel chain.
Ms. Breen received her Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law, New Jersey in 2012 and a Bachelor of Arts in Radio-Television Broadcast Journalism from the University of Central Florida in 2008.
She is licensed to practice law in Florida and New York and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
