Amanda G. Alexander is the managing partner of the Jackson, Mississippi office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mrs. Alexander represents insurance carriers, businesses and public entities in the areas of commercial litigation. She handles a wide range of matters involving first-party property claims, premises liability, motor vehicle liability, commercial general liability, insurance defense coverage matters, labor and employment law, worker’s compensation and the representation of employers, self-insured employers and their insurance carriers. Mrs. Alexander represents clients in state and federal courts, in arbitration, appeals, mediation, and in administrative hearings. She has attained the highest Peer Review Rating of AV® from the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and is recognized as a Mid-South Super Lawyer.

Since 2005, and before joining QPWB, Mrs. Alexander was founding owner of her civil defense law practice in Jackson, Mississippi where she represented local and state entities and local and national companies in the hospitality, healthcare, retail and manufacturing industries. In 2018, she was named among the “Top 50 Leading Businesswomen” and “Top 50 Under 40 in Business” by the Mississippi Business Journal. Mrs. Alexander was also actively involved in the community both locally and nationally, including serving as Past President of the National Conference of the Women’s Bar Association and on the Executive Committee of the Mississippi College Board of Trustees.

For nine years, Mrs. Alexander served as Adjunct Professor at Jackson State University, Department of Health Policy & Management, mostly lecturing on medical malpractice, health policies and career development.

Mrs. Alexander received her Juris Doctor from the Mississippi College School of Law in May 2004, a Master of Public Policy and Administration in May 2000 from Jackson State University, Mississippi, and Bachelor of Arts from Tougaloo College, Mississippi in May 1998. Following law school, she served as Deputy City Attorney for the City of Jackson in the Litigation Division, Office of the City Attorney where she represented the city in administrative proceedings, state and federal employment matters, civil service commission hearings and other civil defense litigation; she also clerked for the Chief Judge Leslie D. King of the Mississippi Court of Appeals.

Mrs. Alexander is licensed to practice law in Mississippi and District of Columbia. She is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and District of Columbia Court of Appeals.
