Alexander M. Shindler is an associate in the New York and New Jersey offices of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. He focuses in the areas of insurance defense litigation, general liability, personal injury, wrongful death, automotive liability, premises liability, dram shop, property damage, construction defect claims, negligent security, partnership disputes, medical malpractice defense, police misconduct, and claims that arise under the Civil Rights Act Section 1983. In these areas, he represents individual and corporate clients, insurance companies, real estate property owners and developers, contractors and subcontractors, architects, engineers, physicians and their insurers. Mr. Shindler’s practice encompasses analyzing contracts and insurance policies to provide coverage opinions and negotiate risk transfers. When the COVID-19 pandemic began, Mr. Shindler litigated banking cases on behalf of lenders, including inadvertent satisfaction of mortgage and commercial foreclosures, and defended employers in workers’ compensation cases.
In 2009 Mr. Shindler commenced private practice with a New York City law firm handling personal injury and commercial litigation matters where he directly represented slip and fall and automobile accidents, negligent security matters, and partnership disputes from inception through trial in New York and New Jersey federal and state courts. Prior to joining QPWB, he was a senior associate at various New York commercial litigation law firms where he focused on all of his current areas of practice.
Mr. Shindler received his Juris Doctor from Pace University School of Law, New York in May 2009 and Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Colgate University, Hamilton, New York in May 2006 graduating with majors in Latin and Psychology.
He graduated from law school with a Certificate in International Law, was a recurring member of the Dean’s List, and served as editor of the Journal of Court Innovation.
Mr. Shindler is licensed to practice law in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and District of Columbia where he is an inactive member.
Mr. Shindler assisted victims of Hurricane Sandy with pro bono legal services by guiding a diverse community of Russian and Spanish-speaking population regarding insurance claim matters and contractor disputes, and filing claims and advising on recovery actions.
He is fluent in Russian and conversational in Spanish.
