Wendy A. McMillon is a partner in the Dallas office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She has tried numerous jury trials in the defense of lawsuits in a practice spanning over 25 years. Her practice includes all areas of the law from complex, multi-party commercial matters to family disputes and comprises the representation of cases in complex and catastrophic injuries and damages. Her practice is primarily focused in the areas of general liability defense in personal and commercial lines of business and specifically includes, professional negligence, medical malpractice, and nursing home defense; health care litigation; automobile, trucking and motorcycle; construction defect; product liability; negligent security and premises liability; negligent hiring and supervision; insurance coverage and bad faith litigation.
Ms. McMillon’s practice includes serving as mediator, arbitrator and in alternative dispute resolution. She is a credentialed mediator with the Texas Mediator Trainers Roundtable and obtained Certificates in Basic Mediation and Advanced Family Mediation at the Duncum Center for Conflict Resolution Graduate School at ACU.
Before joining QPWB, Ms. McMillon was in-house counsel and senior trial lawyer defending GEICO and its insureds in first-party property and third-party liability insurance cases serving as a claims advisor on liability, damages and coverage issues. Previously, and for over seven years, she was managing partner of a general civil litigation and mediation practice in Collin County, Texas. In addition, she has significant experience handling complex multi-party federal court cases and leveraging high volume e-discovery issues; her practice also includes the areas of healthcare liability claims, business tort litigation and commercial litigation, family law, white collar crime, RICO allegations, labor and employment, intellectual property, antitrust and trade secret litigation.
Ms. McMillon has defended cases upheld by both the U.S. Supreme Court and the Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals in Rotella v. Wood, 528 U.S. 549 (2000); and the Texas Supreme Court in IHS Treatment Center v. Mason, 143 S.W. 3d 794 (Tex. 2004). She also worked on federal court litigation surrounding claims made by federal agents regarding the siege on the Branch Davidian compound.
Ms. McMillon received her Juris Doctor cum laude from Western Michigan University Law School in 1994 and Bachelor of Arts from Bowling Green State University, Ohio, in 1990 graduating with a major in Political Science. While in law school, she served as Editor of the Law Review.
Ms. McMillon is licensed to practice law in Texas. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Western and Eastern Districts of Texas.
