Tierney N. Miller is an associate in the Jacksonville office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Miller focuses her practice on first party property insurance claims under commercial and homeowner policies stemming from insurance coverage disputes, policy interpretation, and the application of policy exclusion arising from a variety of insurance products including general liability, motor vehicle, premise liability, product liability, professional liability claims, wrongful death matters, and claims pertaining to general negligence.
Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Miller was staff counsel to a property and casualty insurance company headquartered in Clearwater, Florida where she defended first party property claims and negotiated settlement agreements. Her experience includes conducting depositions of insureds, public adjusters, experts, and other witnesses. Ms. Miller has defended the depositions of corporate representatives, insurance company field and desk adjusters, and other experts; she has also resolved claims under Civil Remedy Notices to preclude potential claims from insurance bad faith actions. She has conducted Examinations Under Oath for insureds and has assisted with coverage determinations. Previously, Ms. Miller was an associate attorney with two insurance defense law firms where she practiced in South Florida handling first party property claims for insureds, public adjusters and corporate representatives. She prepared coverage opinion letters for insurance companies, and handled mandatory arbitration hearings in personal injury protection (PIP) cases. Ms. Miller efficiently resolved first party property cases defending depositions, attending mediations, and engaging in negotiations.
Ms. Miller received her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, Fort Lauderdale, Florida in May 2011 and a Bachelor of Science from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in May 2005, graduating with a major in business administration and marketing.
Ms. Miller is licensed to practice law in Florida.
