Anthony J. Fernandez is Co-Managing Partner of the Scottsdale, Arizona office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Fernandez is an experienced trial lawyer with emphasis on medical negligence, long-term health care negligence for insurers, motor vehicle liability, premises liability, products liability and the defense of various types of catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death claims. Mr. Fernandez's practice encompasses a variety of complex litigation matters including dram shop and liquor liability defense; governmental liability defense, civil rights claims under Section 1983; disability claims and workplace accommodation disputes under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and professional licensing board defense. Mr. Fernandez's litigation practice regularly deals with conflicts encompassing both common law tort issues and pertinent statutes and regulations requiring coordination with various types of expert witnesses. He represents clients in state and federal courts, in arbitration, appeals, mediation, and in administrative hearings.
Mr. Fernandez received his Juris Doctor from St. John's University School of Law, New York in 1996 and Bachelor of Arts from State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1993 majoring in economics.
Mr. Fernandez is actively licensed to practice law in Arizona and New Mexico and is an inactive member of The Florida Bar and New Jersey Bar. He is also admitted in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Fernandez's professional affiliations include the IADC (International Association of Defense Counsel), Arizona State Bar Association, Florida State Bar Association, Maricopa County Bar Association, AADC (Arizona Association of Defense Counsel) and the DRI (Defense Research Institute).
