Alexander F. Giovanniello is of counsel in the Los Angeles office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Giovanniello is an accomplished trial attorney with expertise in handling complex litigation cases participating in over twenty-four jury and court trials, hundreds of judicial and commercial arbitrations, administrative hearings, and binding mediations. He specializes in the defense of healthcare professionals and long-term care facilitates through all aspects of the litigation process.
Mr. Giovanniello regularly represents physicians, hospitals, clinics, and skilled nursing home facilities in elder/dependent adult abuse cases, medical malpractice, and administrative actions. His practice also includes premises liability, catastrophic personal injury, construction defects, commercial litigation, crises and collections management, medical and other products liability, Title 17 & 22, assisted living and residential facilities, foster care and family agencies, charitable institutions, professional negligence, and the Department of Public Health ("DPH") Administrative actions. He is the founding partner of the Giovanniello Law Group where he assisted healthcare providers, corporations, professionals, private businesses, and insurance companies in civil litigation and administrative actions throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, Washington, and New York in State and Federal courts.
He is a highly sought-after speaker lecturing nationally for corporations, insurance companies and educational institutions. He has presented seminars to healthcare professionals, attorneys, hospitals and skilled nursing facilities on elder abuse, nursing home malpractice, enforcing ADR agreements, defensive charting, practical patient care, liability issues, pre-trial procedures, uses of medical records in litigation, ethics, trial, removal to federal court and deposition testimony. He has held workshops on topics that include California State Insurance Regulations as well as State and Federal Employment Practices Liability for California. He has also presented MCLE training seminars that discuss skilled nursing facilities, elder abuse, civil procedure, law and motion, settlement, negotiations, soft tissue injuries, medical evidence, employment liability and law firm management.
Mr. Giovanniello received his Juris Doctor in 1986 from the University of San Diego School of Law and his Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at Brockport, graduating cum laude in 1982. While in undergrad, he was the recipient of Dean's Honors and a participant in the Washington, D.C. Internship Program for academic achievement.
He is licensed to practice law in California, Nevada, Arizona, Washington, and New York, and is admitted in all the California Federal District Courts and the Southern District Court of New York.
In his community, he participates in the USC School of Geriatrics' annual Mock Trial, serves as settlement officer for the Los Angeles Superior Court Crash Settlement Conference Program, and is a member on the Advisory Committee to the Los Angeles County Elder Abuse Forensic Center.
