Andrew P. Westphal is an associate in the Tampa hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., where his practice encompasses civil litigation, general litigation, property liability, personal injury defense, product liability, premises liability, and wrongful death cases.
Before joining QPWB, Mr. Westphal served as an Assistant Public Defender in Tampa's 13th Judicial Circuit. He managed a robust caseload of over 210 misdemeanor cases, ranging from domestic battery to DUI with property damage. His achievements include securing a case dismissal through a complex Motion in Limine concerning ShotSpotter evidence. Andrew also has juvenile felony trial experience.
Mr. Westphal gained litigation and compliance experience as a Legal and Compliance Intern at GTE Credit Union. During this role, he prepared federal research memorandums and presented key findings to the executive board. His experience also includes drafting motions for appellate and trial-level cases during his internship at The Florida Law Group and coordinating client interactions.
In 2023, Mr. Westphal earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in Riverview, FL. While at law school, he was recognized with the Certificate of Merit for Negotiation Skills and the Certificate of Merit for Florida Bar Skills Plus. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a focus on Media Studies, which he completed at the University of South Florida in 2019.
Mr. Westphal is licensed to practice law in Florida. In addition to his professional accomplishments, he is dedicated to community involvement, having volunteered with the ALS Foundation and participating in auditing initiatives with the Earth Law Center.
