Anthony T. Pieti is a partner in the Farmington Hills Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Bringing more than 20 years of experience handling complex, multi-faceted litigation, with a particular focus on matters involving construction defects, insurance defense, professional and product liability, and commercial disputes.
Mr. Pieti's practice is distinguished by his multidisciplinary background and deep industry knowledge. He holds a master's degree in finance and previously worked as a mechanical engineer for major automotive manufacturers, including Ford Motor Company and Visteon. This foundation gives him a practical, technical perspective that is especially valuable in litigation involving business operations, manufacturing processes, and automotive systems, allowing him to analyze cases beyond the legal issues and into the underlying engineering, financial, and operational realities.
In the area of construction law, Mr. Pieti represents and defends architects, engineers, construction managers, general contractors, subcontractors, surveyors, owners, and developers in a wide range of disputes. His experience includes matters involving design defects, construction defects, errors and omissions, insurance coverage, and professional liability. He routinely represents clients both directly and through insurance providers and is skilled in navigating the intersection of construction law, insurance law, and risk allocation.
Mr. Pieti also maintains a robust commercial and business litigation practice. He advises clients on contract review, breach of contract claims, and finance-related disputes, and he assists with drafting and negotiating agreements designed to reduce risk and limit future exposure. His work often involves complex commercial relationships across construction, manufacturing, transportation, and retail industries.
A significant component of Mr. Pieti's litigation practice involves the defense of automotive suppliers, manufacturers, and sellers. He has extensive experience handling product liability claims alleging design and manufacturing defects, warranty disputes, and commercial litigation arising from supply and production contracts. In addition to defending claims, he regularly advises clients on contract provisions, such as warranty waivers and limitation periods, to proactively mitigate risk.
Mr. Pieti also defends professional liability claims involving medical professionals, attorneys, accountants, and insurance agents and brokers. He counsels clients on risk management and risk transfer strategies and works closely with them to review and revise internal policies and procedures aimed at minimizing exposure. Additionally, he has substantial experience handling first- and third-party automobile negligence claims, with a particular focus on commercial insurance policies and interstate trucking and transportation matters. His work in this area includes successfully recovering reimbursement from higher-priority insurers through complex subrogation actions.

- Represented and advised a large municipality and construction contractors in claims arising from the collapse of a major roadway and loss of utilities related to underground excavation and construction.
- Represented architects and civil engineering firms in claims involving construction and design defects across large housing developments, multi-dwelling projects, commercial developments, and major academic institutions.
- Represented automotive suppliers in matters involving design and manufacturing defects, product liability defense, manufacturing injuries, and commercial disputes related to supply contracts.
- Obtained summary disposition dismissing all claims in a complex legal malpractice action involving unlimited damages tied to underlying medical malpractice and general negligence allegations arising from pediatric neurosurgery.
- Obtained summary disposition in a legal malpractice matter defending attorneys and their law firm against claims alleging failure to pursue a lawsuit against a physician.
- Recovered more than $850,000 for insurer clients under Michigan's No-Fault Act first-party (PIP) subrogation statute involving Michigan residents injured in out-of-state accidents.
- Obtained summary judgment allowing full subrogation of first-party (PIP) benefits in a commercial trucking accident case arising in Kentucky involving a Michigan resident.
Licensed to practice law in Michigan, Mr. Pieti is admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit, the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, and the U.S. District Court, Western District of Michigan.
