Asika K. Patel is a Partner in the Miami Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., and a recognized leader in First Party Property Insurance litigation, an area in which she has concentrated her practice for over 20 years. She represents insurers in high-exposure residential and commercial property disputes involving complex coverage issues, catastrophic losses, and large-scale litigation arising from hurricanes, fire, water, mold, and other major events. Her deep industry insight and ability to resolve challenging claims efficiently and strategically have made her a trusted advocate for both regional and national insurers.
In addition to her extensive insurance practice, Ms. Patel has a strong background in Construction Defect litigation, defending developers, contractors, and design professionals in claims involving structural defects, workmanship disputes, and multimillion-dollar property damage. Her ability to analyze technical construction issues and manage expert-heavy matters makes her a trusted advocate in complex construction cases.
Throughout her career, Ms. Patel has litigated cases from inception through trial, managing all phases of litigation and ensuring each case proceeds with precision and purpose. She leads teams of associates and manages key client relationships, delivering clear communication, practical guidance, and consistent results.
Her experience further extends to Real Estate and Title Insurance litigation, Professional Liability, Commercial Litigation, and Trucking and Transportation. She has represented clients across Florida, New York, and Colorado. She has also published articles on title insurance litigation, contributing thought leadership to the field.
Ms. Patel is an accomplished speaker and educator, having conducted presentations and training programs for clients and industry associations, including courses approved for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit on first-party property insurance topics.
She has been widely recognized for her excellence in the legal profession, including selection to the 2022 Top 50 Lawyers in America list, and earlier as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2011-2012.
Ms. Patel earned her Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law, after completing dual undergraduate degrees from the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada.
She is licensed in Florida, New York, and Colorado, and admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and multiple U.S. District Courts across Florida, New York, and Colorado.
