Barbara S. Nolan is a partner in the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Nolan concentrates her practice in first party property insurance defense claims. She represents carriers and third party administrators in cases involving insurance coverage and bad faith claims in state and federal court.
Ms. Nolan has practiced as an associate with various Miami law offices where she has represented insurance carriers in property and casualty matters involving first party property and third party liability claims; she has handled labor and employment / management side litigation and commercial litigation cases on behalf of individuals and commercial businesses.
Ms. Nolan received her Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law in May 2005 and Bachelor of Arts, with general honors, from the University of Miami in May 1993 graduating with double majors in economics and history. While in law school, she received the book award for academic achievement in advanced legal research and served as a faculty teacher's assistant in legal research, writing and appellate advocacy.
Also during law school, she clerked for the general counsel of the University of Florida, Office of the Vice President of Finance and Administration, where she created a database of real property holdings; and, conducted research on civil and criminal cases while working at the Eighth Judicial Circuit in Gainesville, Florida.
Ms. Nolan is licensed to practice law in Florida and is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida; and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit.
In her community, she is a past troop leader for Girl Scouts of America. She has served as a volunteer judge at both, the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, U.S. Southeast Super Regional and the Dade County Bar Association, "We the People" Constitutional Contest.
Ms. Nolan is fluent in Spanish.
