Blake Stubbs is an associate in the Chicago office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A.. Mr. Stubbs is a seasoned litigator representing institutional clients, major creditors, and individuals across a broad spectrum of complex civil and commercial matters. His practice primarily focuses on commercial, real estate, and financial services litigation within both federal and state courts.
Mr. Stubbs' professional background is defined by his ability to manage high-stakes disputes from every angle. He has successfully navigated the intricacies of multimillion-dollar, multi-state class actions involving automotive defects and consumer fraud, overseeing critical phases of discovery, negotiating protective orders and ESI protocols, and Daubert motion practice. His representative experience also includes direct relationship management for financial services entities, mobile home park operators, and real estate acquisition companies, counseling them on regulatory compliance, electrical and housing regulations, and local building and zoning codes.
His experience is further distinguished by his tenure as an Assistant State's Attorney, where he served as lead counsel in numerous bench and jury trials. During this time, he litigated civil matters on behalf of the county and responded to FOIA requests, while handling written and oral motion practice—including one case that resulted in a successful affirmation on appeal. This transition from government service to high-exposure private litigation provides him with a tactical edge in the courtroom and a comprehensive understanding of court appearances, administrative hearings, and appellate procedures.
Mr. Stubbs earned his Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School in 2014, where he served on the Drake Law Review and authored published research on Fourth Amendment rights. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis in 2011.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Stubbs is an active member of the legal community and has provided pro bono services as a volunteer immigration attorney.
