Brendan M. Johns is an associate in the Denver office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. With a focus on insurance defense matters, Mr. Johns collaborates seamlessly with insurance carriers and their insureds. His expertise encompasses drafting essential pleadings, managing written discovery processes, and preparing confidential mediation statements.
In addition to his work with insurance defense, Mr. Johns independently oversees plaintiffs' claims in both state and federal courts. This includes the entire litigation process, from drafting complaints to negotiating stipulated settlement agreements. A standout achievement in Mr. Johns' career was successfully taking a five-day insurance defense admitted liability jury trial to verdict. His role encompassed handling the opening statement, cross-examining various witnesses, and directing the examination of retained experts.
Before joining QPWB, Mr. Johns served as the Deputy District Attorney for the Office of the District Attorney, 20th Judicial District in Colorado. In this role, he managed a diverse caseload, overseeing cases from court to trial. Additionally, he led a dedicated team responsible for collaborating with victims, witnesses, and relevant parties to advance criminal investigations.
Mr. Johns holds a Juris Doctor from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Colorado Boulder. He furthered his legal education with a Master of Laws, magna cum laude, from Elisabeth Haub School of Law, Pace University.
