Brett M. Cornwell is a partner in the Dallas office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Cornwell has extensive civil litigation experience in both state and federal courts in Texas. His practice focuses in the areas of non-subscriber claims, benefit claims under ERISA, contractual subrogation claims under ERISA, premises liability, personal injury, medical malpractice defense, insurance defense, commercial and business litigation, construction defects, and employment discrimination matters. Mr. Cornwell's practice emphasizes an aggressive and vigorous approach to provide clients with innovative solutions to resolve cases and prepare them for trial.
Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Cornwell was an associate with a Dallas law firm specializing in commercial litigation and the defense of companies involved in workplace injury, general liability, and construction defect disputes. Previously, Mr. Cornwell worked at a Dallas law firm specializing in non-subscriber, ERISA benefit claims, and contractual subrogation claims under ERISA benefits plan, medical malpractice, and health law regulatory compliance.
Mr. Cornwell received his Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law in May 2008, and Bachelor of Arts from Southwestern University in May 2005 graduating with a major in political science and minor in communications. During law school, Mr. Cornwell was a semi-finalist in the Intramural Mock Trial Competition at South Texas College of Law.
Mr. Cornwell is licensed to practice law in Texas; and is admitted in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Dallas Bar Association, Texas Association of Defense Counsel, and American Bar Association.
