Bryan Kurtz is an associate in the San Francisco Bay office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Kurtz maintains a broad and adaptable practice, representing both individuals and corporate entities in state and federal courts. He focuses his practice on insurance defense, construction defect, personal injury, landlord and tenant disputes, premises liability, and business and commercial litigation.

Throughout his career, Mr. Kurtz has independently managed expansive caseloads across the entire litigation lifecycle. Notably, his professional background includes entrepreneurial leadership as the Founder and Managing Attorney of a boutique litigation firm in San Francisco, where he oversaw all aspects of operations, case management, and litigation strategy. He also brings a proven track record of operational growth, having built a pre-litigation department entirely from the ground up at a prior practice, where he successfully managed a large team and a caseload of up to 150 files to recover millions for clients.

Mr. Kurtz brings robust experience in high-stakes insurance defense, resolving personal injury and property matters efficiently while collaborating closely with clients and insurance carriers. He is highly proficient in drafting comprehensive pleadings, managing intensive discovery, taking and defending dozens of depositions, and executing tactical pretrial motion practice, including motions in limine and motions for summary judgment. His past experience also spans representing corporate clients in class-action ERISA suits, navigating complex labor disputes involving wage and hour claims, and guiding transactional real estate arbitrations.

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Kurtz gained valuable research and analytical experience as a discovery analyst and as a legal intern for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Mark D. Pfeiffer at the Missouri Court of Appeals, where he conducted legal research and assisted in drafting judicial opinions.

In 2018, he earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law, where he served on the UMKC Law Review and contributed to community-focused legal access initiatives. Mr. Kurtz obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Missouri - Kansas City in 2013. He has been recognized by his peers and was elected to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for 2024.

He is licensed to practice law in California and is admitted to the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
