Chase M. Gruszka is a partner in the Chicago Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., where he focuses on defending high-exposure claims across a broad spectrum of complex matters including catastrophic injury. His caseload also includes transportation-related litigation, general liability claims against public and private entities, professional negligence actions, and dram shop litigation, with a particular emphasis on defending microbreweries and wineries.
From first notice through verdict, Chase is known for his ability to partner with clients to mitigate risk, manage exposure, and guide strategy. His versatility allows him to engage early, shape case narratives, and resolve matters efficiently—whether through dispositive motion, structured negotiation, or alternative dispute resolution. When trial is the most strategic path forward, he is fully prepared, with a proven track record of success in countless jury and bench trials, as well as arbitrations.
He earned his J.D. from UIC John Marshall Law School, where he served on the Trial Advocacy & Dispute Resolution Honors Council and was selected to the elite eight-member Trial Advocacy and Dispute Resolution Honors Board. Today, Chase gives back to his alma mater by teaching trial advocacy and alternative dispute resolution, mentoring law students in developing practical courtroom and negotiation skills.
Recognized by Illinois Super Lawyers as a Rising Star every year from 2019 through 2024, Chase has earned a distinction awarded to no more than 2.5% of attorneys yearly in the state.
Outside the office, Chase brings the same curiosity, creativity, and composure from the courtroom to his personal life. He enjoys traveling with his wife, exploring the outdoors with their golden retriever, attending live music events, and experimenting in the kitchen.
