Christopher A. Brookhart is a partner in the Atlanta office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. As a dedicated trial attorney and litigator, he focuses on insurance defense litigation, admiralty defense, and general civil litigation, including premises liability and breach of contract. With extensive experience managing high-volume cases from inception to completion, Mr. Brookhart has a proven track record of success.
Mr. Brookhart spent nearly five years with prominent Virgin Islands law firms, where he practiced in various areas such as insurance defense, foreclosures, title disputes, and admiralty law. Notably, he managed a foreclosure case involving properties valued at approximately 1 million dollars in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He also played a significant role in litigating real property title disputes in St. John, USVI, defending against fraudulent or improper claims on dozens of parcels. Additionally, he assisted in a major title dispute in St. John where a single individual claimed interest in multiple parcels.
Throughout his career in insurance defense, Mr. Brookhart has represented major U.S. Virgin Islands companies, including Marriott International and its affiliates, Banco Popular, Island Global Yachting, Crown Bay Marina, and Caneel Bay Resort. He also handles admiralty claims for smaller charter boat companies. He has argued motions in civil and criminal defense hearings before Superior and District Courts and has assisted in trying cases to judgments, achieving positive outcomes for his clients.
Mr. Brookhart earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina, Joseph F. Rice School of Law, and his Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from the University of Georgia Honors College.
Licensed to practice law in Georgia, South Carolina, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, Mr. Brookhart is admitted to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the District Court of South Carolina, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and the Supreme Court of Georgia.
