Chuba B. Abaelu is an associate in the Atlanta Office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., he dedicates his practice to representing clients in general liability and insurance defense and coverage matters, including premises liability, negligent security, trucking and automobile accident cases, catastrophic injury and in wrongful death actions.   

Mr. Abaelu was founder of his law practice established in Long Beach, California in 2008 and later in Atlanta, Georgia in 2018. His practice has focused on bankruptcy, employment litigation, personal injury, administrative law, and criminal defense.  He has also worked as a FINRA arbitrator resolving security and employment disputes between and among investors, brokerage firms and individual brokers.  Mr. Abaelu has practiced as a closing attorney for residential mortgage transactions and as an anti-money laundering analyst investigating financial crimes and reviewing sanctions compliance programs.

Mr. Abaelu's experience includes serving as a volunteer legal consultant for The Edge Connection in Kennesaw State University, Georgia; a nonprofit/economic development organization, where he assisted entrepreneurs and small businesses with contract review and advised on contract drafting techniques.

Previously, Mr. Abaelu was an associate attorney with two insurance defense and civil litigation defense law firms in California where he handled insurance bad faith litigation, insurance coverage disputes, commercial litigation, wrongful death lawsuits, municipal liability defense, toxic torts and construction defect litigation.

Mr. Abaelu received his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in May 2001, a Master of Laws in Business and Finance from The George Washington University Law School, Washington, D.C., in May 2014, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles in May 1997. While in law school, we served as a judicial extern with the California Court of Appeals, Second Appellate District in Los Angeles. While working on his LL.M., he served as an associate editor of Wealth Strategies Journal where he summarized court decisions, statues and administrative agency rules. He authored various articles concerning federal and state tax laws, IRS regulations, bankruptcy, SEC and FINRA rules, estate planning and insurance law.

He is licensed to practice law in Georgia and California (inactive). Mr. Abaelu serves as a Georgia Agent for Life, Accident & Sickness since 2017.
