Clyde L. Lemon is an associate in the Orlando Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., with a robust background in government agency collaboration and comprehensive casework. Mr. Lemon's practice spans various areas of civil litigation including professional liability, construction defects, government liability, workers' compensation defense, estate planning, and alternative dispute resolution. His key skills include case research, legal writing, legal analysis, investigative reporting, and trial advocacy.
In his recent role as an Assistant Public Defender at the Law Offices for the Ninth Judicial Circuit, Mr. Lemon represented clients accused of misdemeanors and felonies, negotiated with the State to achieve fair outcomes, analyzed evidence and case law, prepared and filed motions and depositions, and represented clients in both jury and bench trials. Previously, he served as an Operations Review Specialist at the Florida Department of Children & Families, where he reviewed public assistance program policies, assessed agency actions, conducted administrative and medical benefits hearings, administered oaths, established the burden of proof, developed hearing records, and issued final administrative orders based on evidence and testimony.
In 2018, Mr. Lemon earned his Juris Doctor from Barry University School of Law. Before attending law school, Mr. Lemon completed a Master of Science in Criminology at Florida State University in 2013 and a Master of Science in Juvenile Justice at North Carolina Central University in 2009. He began his academic journey with a Bachelor of Arts (in Political Science from Benedict College, graduating magna cum laude in 2006.
Dually licensed in Florida and South Carolina, Mr. Lemon is also a Certified Notary Republic. He is actively involved in several professional organizations, such as the American Bar Association, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Orange County Bar Association, the Virgil Hawkins Bar Association, and the Paul C. Perkins Bar Association. Additionally, he is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
