Connie M. Fickel, J.D., M.B.A. is the Managing Partner of the Los Angeles Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Fickel leads a team of attorneys handling complex litigation across multiple industries. With extensive experience in professional liability, FINRA-based securities litigation, and business disputes, she has successfully defended investment advisors, accountants, actuaries, ERISA fiduciaries, attorneys, corporate officers, and insurance professionals in high-exposure cases. Her practice spans regulatory enforcement actions and intricate commercial conflicts where financial, legal, and business interests intersect.
Ms. Fickel is a seasoned trial attorney with a track record of securing favorable verdicts and dismissals in multi-million dollar cases. She has defended insurance agents and financial professionals against claims of fraud, misrepresentation, and negligence, including obtaining numerous favorable jury verdicts. She has also won FINRA arbitration cases, securing a Respondent's award in a $5 million dispute involving alternative investments, including REITs, TICS, oil and gas limited partnerships, and premium-financed insurance policies.
A key component of Ms. Fickel's practice includes representing insurance agents and brokers in professional liability matters nationwide. She has successfully litigated claims concerning the procurement and performance of insurance products and frequently defends cases related to welfare benefit plans challenged by the IRS as abusive tax shelters. Notably, she has prevailed in motions to dismiss fraud and negligence claims related to welfare benefit plans challenged by the IRS and won summary judgment in a dispute over an insurance broker's alleged failure to secure proper coverage for a winery. Her practice also extends to complex business litigation, where she advises on real estate disputes, partnership conflicts, construction contracts, employment issues, and consumer class action defense.
Earning both her Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University, Ms. Fickel developed a perspective that allows her to navigate complex financial disputes with precision. Her undergraduate degree in business administration further strengthens her ability to assess risk, analyze financial instruments, and craft strategies that align with her clients' business objectives.
Ms. Fickel is licensed to practice law in California. She is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Professional Liability Underwriting Society.
