Courtney Schael

Courtney Schael is Of Counsel in the Basking Ridge office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. A tenacious litigator with a pragmatic approach to strategic goals, Ms. Schael represents a diverse spectrum of constituents in complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, combining deep technical knowledge with innovative strategies to navigate commercial disputes and insolvency matters. Over the last 30 years, she has centered her practice on bankruptcy, restructuring, insolvency, and bankruptcy litigation. 

Ms. Schael founded and managed her own boutique insolvency practice starting in 2009, handling commercial bankruptcy matters for corporate clients, creditors, and interested parties. Before establishing her firm, she spent over a decade honing her practice in the bankruptcy and restructuring departments of major regional and national law firms. 

In 1993, she earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she served on the Editorial Board of the Seton Hall Constitutional Law Journal. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Pennsylvania State University in 1986. 

Ms. Schael is licensed to practice law in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
