Courtney M. Smith is an associate in the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She focuses her practice on insurance defense litigation in the representation of businesses, self-insured organizations and professionals in civil matters involving general liability issues, first-party property claims, nursing home and long term care litigation, automobile negligence, premises liability, negligent security, personal injury claims, wrongful death matters, and dram shop cases.

Previously, Ms. Smith worked as a Hearing Officer with the Texas Workforce Commission in San Antonio, Texas. She has substantial knowledge of the Texas Unemployment Compensation Act and conducted telephone hearings on entitlement to unemployment insurance benefits in accordance with Federal and Texas laws and procedures. She also worked as a briefing attorney for a San Antonio, Texas personal injury law firm where she managed more than a dozen personal injury cases valued at over one million dollars.

Before moving to San Antonio Texas, Ms. Smith was an associate attorney in QPWB's Tampa office where she worked on insurance defense, nursing home defense and long term care negligence for insurers and self-insured clients. Previously, she was an executive assistant to Florida Polytechnic University's general counsel, researching administrative law.

Ms. Smith received her Juris Doctor from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University College of Law in May 2017 and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Florida in May 2014, with a major in political science and legal studies with an emphasis in sports entertainment law and public law.  While in law school, she was a member of the Student Bar Association Chair of Sponsorship and Fundraising Committee, Black Law Student Association and mock trial team, serving as Chair of its advocacy board.

She is licensed to practice law in Florida.
