Danielle M. Benjamin is an associate in the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. with a diverse practice focused on insurance and (re)insurance coverage and defense including first-party and third-party related claims. Her experience includes monitoring counsel and TPA services to (re)insurers throughout various jurisdictions and has handled matters across the U.S., Caribbean, and Latin America.
Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Benjamin was an associate at an international insurance defense firm with the responsibility for driving the development of new practice areas for the firm. While there, her specialty was (re)insurance, particularly in the Caribbean and Latin America with focus on claim related to Property & Casualty, Contractors' All Risks, Directors and Officers Liability, Cyber Risks, Marine, Professional Liability, Public Liability, Environmental, and Employer's Liability. In addition to acting as monitoring counsel for coverage and defense matters, she utilizes alternative dispute resolutions methods, including pre-litigation settlement negotiations, mediation, and arbitration to advance the settlement of claims.
She is trained and experienced not only in the United States' legal system but also the British and Caribbean Common Law systems and the International Law field, generally. She has successfully represented (re)insurers leading to a reduction of over half a million dollars in third-party and environmental impact claims in Latin America and the Caribbean. She has also assisted in the handling of a novel Covid-19 Business interruption claim in the Caribbean.
Ms. Benjamin received her Juris Doctor from University of Miami School of Law in 2019. She has co-authored and published articles on the enforcement of arbitral awards in Latin America and the Caribbean, NFTs and implications for the (re)insurance market as well as drafted a presentation for (re)insurers on medical malpractice claims in the US Virgin Islands and Commonwealth Caribbean.
Ms. Benjamin has now begun to grow her practice as relates to Florida surplus lines and domestic insurer-related claims as it relates to Property and Auto. She is licensed to practice law in Florida and the Commonwealth Caribbean.
