David A. Mitchell is an associate in the Fort Lauderdale hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Mitchell's practice encompasses a range of civil litigation matters, with a focus on workers' compensation defense, contractual disputes, and lien foreclosures. He has gained experience representing employers, insurance carriers, and various business entities throughout his career, where he regularly drafts motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and complaints for all stages of litigation.
Before joining QPWB, Mr. Mitchell handled hearings, drafted complaints, and worked on lien foreclosure and breach of contract cases. Prior to that, he served as a law clerk and later as an attorney for a West Palm Beach firm, where he conducted depositions, prepared case evaluations, and provided settlement recommendations. His in-house counsel experience at Bloomin' Brands, Inc. further equipped him with skills in legal research and international jurisdiction issues for a national restaurant chain.
In 2022, Mr. Mitchell earned his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law, where he served as Vice President of the Tax Law Society and Parliamentarian of the Black Law Students Association. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Florida Atlantic University, where he was the Historian of the Caribbean Student Association.
Mr. Mitchell is admitted to practice law in Florida and is proficient in Spanish at an intermediate level, further enhancing his ability to serve diverse clients across the state.
