De'Anna M. Golphin is an associate in the Tallahassee office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., focusing in the areas of insurance defense litigation, first-party property and coverage claims, general liability and personal injury litigation involving premises liability, motor vehicle negligence, negligent security and wrongful death matters. In addition, Ms. Golphin represents healthcare providers and long-term care facilities in both medical malpractice and employment claims. She handles a wide range of employment-related claims including employment discrimination, whistleblower retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and disability leave and accommodation.
Before rejoining QPWB, Ms. Golphin was chief compliance officer at a Florida diagnostic sleep testing company where she managed regulatory and privacy matters for 18 sleep clinics nationwide involving HIPAA compliance, Anti-Kickback, Stark Law, HITECH Act, and other federal statutes. She handled various forms of healthcare related contracts and agreements for medical director and physician services. She also managed government audits, investigations, self-disclosures and settlement agreements. Ms. Golphin counseled on employment related matters including but not limited to harassment, discrimination, FMLA and workers compensation. She regularly coordinated with outside counsel on legal matter management and tracked litigation.
Previously, she was a solo practitioner directing all aspects of business at her law office in Jacksonville. Her experience also includes representing physician and health care organizations on employment matters. In 2011, she was an associate attorney at QPWB's Tallahassee office where she served as defense counsel to various organizations and healthcare providers in the representation of medical malpractice, employment law, and premises liability in both state and federal court; her experience at QPWB includes second-chairing a jury trial and bench trial. Ms. Golphin provided legal representation as a Florida Assistant Public Defender for the Fourth Judicial Circuit where she handled an extensive and diverse caseload of litigation matters.
Ms. Golphin received her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida in 2009; a Master of Science from Troy University in Atlanta, Georgia in 2004; and a Bachelor of Science from Alabama A&M University in 2001.
Ms. Golphin is licensed to practice law in Florida and is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida.
