Deborah A. Bass is a partner at the New York office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She is a trial and appellate attorney focusing her practice in the areas of insurance defense litigation, insurance coverage, and general liability actions including premises liability, labor and employment law, and toxic tort actions. Her litigation experience in products liability includes involvement in asbestos, prescription and non-prescription pharmaceuticals and lead paint claims. She has extensive experience in the defense of professional liability matters, with an emphasis on attorney malpractice and disciplinary matters. Ms. Bass represents matters from inception through arbitration, mediation, administrative proceedings, trial and appeal. She has a varied practice before the New York Court of Appeals, Appellate Division, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ms. Bass has extensive experience in general litigation involving commercial liability, insurance coverage disputes, construction accidents, class action and defense of high exposure tort claims. Her practice is emphasized in complex, dispositive motion practice in State and Federal Courts. She is counsel to trial attorneys for trial memoranda, jury charges and post-trial motions.
Before joining QPWB, Ms. Bass was a name partner at Ledy-Gurren, Bass & Siff LLP, an "AV" rated boutique litigation and minority owned law firm in White Plains, New York, specializing in litigation on behalf of commercial and institutional clients with both tort and commercial litigation portfolios, where she practiced since the firm's founding in 1994. Previously, and for approximately eight years, she was senior associate with a national, AM Law ranked law firm in New York City. Ms. Bass also worked for the City of New York as Assistant Corporation Counsel.
Ms. Bass received her Juris Doctor, with distinction, from Hofstra University School of Law, New York in 1981 and a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from the State University of New York at Albany in 1978.
Licensed to practice law in New York, Ms. Bass is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Appellate Division, First and Second Departments.
