Douglas W. Baker is an associate in the Tampa office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Baker brings a wealth of expertise spanning both litigation and transactional matters. His practice areas encompass general, civil, real estate, business, and commercial litigation, with a particular focus on government liability defense, administrative law, landlord/tenant law, and criminal litigation. 

With a distinguished tenure as the former Chief Assistant Public Defender for the Hillsborough County Public Defender's Office, Mr. Baker led the felony division, providing comprehensive representation to clients facing felony and misdemeanor charges, including violation of probation cases. His responsibilities extended from arraignment through verdict rendition, including pre-file advocacy. Notably, he served as both first chair and second chair counsel for numerous criminal cases, handling matters such as vehicular homicides and punishable-by-life felonies. 

Mr. Baker navigates all facets of foreclosure litigation, from assessing ownership and encumbrance reports to drafting necessary documents and attending court proceedings and foreclosure sales. Furthermore, his practice encompasses real estate and civil litigation, encompassing quiet title actions, curative actions for title and physical encumbrances, zoning and codes issues, declaratory judgment, eminent domain and condemnation matters, tax deeds, landlord/tenant disputes, and developer representation. 

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting with honors from Florida State University in 1993, followed by his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law, St. Petersburg, where he graduated cum laude in 1996. 

Mr. Baker is admitted to practice law in Florida.
