David M. Tarlow is the managing partner of the Fort Lauderdale office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. He is an expert in civil litigation practice and is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Florida Bar Board of Legal Education and Specialization; and is Board Certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in Civil Trials. He maintains an "AV" Preeminent; Peer Review rating in Martindale-Hubbell Lawyers Directory which indicates a demonstration of the highest professional and ethical standards and is the highest rating a lawyer can receive. Mr. Tarlow acts as national and regional trial counsel for several Fortune 500 companies litigating and trying cases throughout the country. He is the Chair of the Firm's Sexual Abuse, Molestation and Assault practice group. His areas of specialized practice include all aspects of insurance and general liability defense, including the representation of physicians, health care practitioners, acute and long-term care institutions; personal injury defense, premises liability, product liability defense, wrongful death, automobile liability, negligent security, legal malpractice defense, insurance coverage disputes and bad faith litigation.
Mr. Tarlow has earned various defense verdicts in numerous counties in both state and district courts throughout the state of Florida and throughout the country, including the states of Mississippi, Tennessee and California.
Mr. Tarlow is a graduate of the University of Miami where he received his Juris Doctor from the School of Law in 1991 and a Bachelor of Arts in 1988. He began his legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Miami-Dade County wherein he had the experience of trying in excess of 50 jury trials. Mr. Tarlow handled a first degree murder case at age 23 and went on to become death penalty certified by the Florida Supreme Court. In private practice, Mr. Tarlow was then the youngest attorney to be selected to the Criminal Justice Act Panel in the Southern District of Florida to handle court appointed criminal cases in district court. To date, Mr. Tarlow has tried in excess of 200 jury trials and has handled numerous appeals. Mr. Tarlow has had the experience of arguing numerous cases before the Second, Third and Fourth District Courts of Appeal and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Tarlow is admitted to practice in all state courts within the state of Florida; the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts, Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
