Edward Dulatt is an associate in the Fort Lauderdale Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. As a highly experienced litigation attorney with more than 25 years of experience in insurance defense, risk management, and complex civil litigation, Mr. Dulatt utilizes his litigation tactics, as well as his risk management and claims expertise to investigate and gather information from multiple sources; apply relevant law; analyze facts; developing critical information to provide a decisive outcome for clients via dismissal, settlement, mediation, or litigation.
Mr. Dulatt has extensive experience representing insurers, businesses, and corporate clients in both first- and third-party litigation. His practice spans property defense, bodily injury claims, premises liability, negligent security, medical malpractice defense, workers' compensation defense, and insurance coverage disputes. He is well-versed in business litigation, business transactions, and real estate matters, giving him a comprehensive understanding of the legal and financial considerations that impact clients beyond the courtroom.
Before joining QPWB, Mr. Dulatt served as Of Counsel in a senior litigation role, where he worked closely with managing partners on a wide range of complex defense matters. During this time, his practice focused primarily on first- and third-party property defense, while also encompassing trucking defense, civil theft, personal injury defense, workers' compensation defense, and medical malpractice defense. He routinely defended individual and corporate property owners against tort, contractual, and statutory claims, and represented large corporations, physicians, and physician-owned entities in high-exposure litigation.
Mr. Dulatt has managed substantial caseloads from inception through resolution, including trial, mediation, and settlement. His responsibilities included drafting and arguing substantive motions, summary judgment motions, and motions to dismiss; conducting written discovery; preparing witness lists, privilege logs, and pretrial filings; and negotiating settlements on behalf of corporations and insurance carriers. He also conducted extensive legal research and authored memoranda addressing issues related to bodily injury, premises liability, negligent security, and property damage litigation, further strengthening his strategic and analytical litigation approach.
In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Dulatt brings significant experience from the claims and risk management side of the industry. He has worked as a Claims Specialist in collaboration with law firms, insurance carriers, and medical providers, and has served as a Manager of Corporate Risk, overseeing exposure analysis, claims evaluation, and loss mitigation strategies. This background uniquely positions him to anticipate litigation risks early, assess claims holistically, and develop efficient defense strategies aligned with client objectives.
Earning his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, Mr. Dulatt went on to purse his Juris Doctor from Mr. Dulatt the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University in 2005.
Mr. Dulatt is licensed to practice law in New York and Florida. He is also admitted to the United States District Court, Southern and Central Districts of Florida.
