Edward J. Hafer is a partner in the Denver office at Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., focusing his practice on the defense of directors, officers, professionals, and fiduciaries. He represents insurance carriers and their insureds, dental practices, serving companies, self-insured corporations, professionals, and governmental entities in both the courts and in licensing and regulatory proceedings. He protects employers' rights in state and federal courts, representing public and private employers, insurance companies, and third-party administrators against a wide range of employment-related claims including employment discrimination, harassment, whistleblower retaliation, wage and hour, and wrongful terminations.
Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Hafer represented directors, officers, accountants, attorneys, and business owners involving allegations of breach of fiduciary duty claims, professional negligence, trade secrets, unfair competition, trademark violations, fraudulent transfer, breach of contract, and labor and employment actions. His experience includes being part of a three-attorney trial team representing the plaintiff a breach of contract/fraud case in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, where after a two-week trial the jury returned a verdict in excess of $43 million in favor of the client.
Mr. Hafer received his Juris Doctor, Order of the Coif from the University of Colorado Law School in May 2008, a Master of Arts in Philosophy in May 2005, and Bachelor of Arts in May 1998, both from the University of Colorado at Boulder. During law school, Mr. Hafer served as President of the Student Trial Lawyers Association, and was an Associate Editor of the Journal on Telecommunications and High Technology Law.
