Elana P. Ramos is an associate in the Tallahassee office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Ramos's area of expertise lies in administrative law, including experience with civil and administrative procedures, receiving cases while in the investigative process, and working them through to resolution. Regularly appearing before administrative law judges and state boards such as the Board of Medicine, Ms. Ramos handles privileged medical information with care, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
With her comprehensive background in both litigation and transactional law, spanning public and private sectors, Ms. Ramos's practice also encompasses civil litigation, commercial liability, general litigation, healthcare and transactional matters, insurance and insurers, negligent security, personal injury defense, product liability, premises liability, property damage, retail and hospitality, and wrongful death cases. In addition to her public sector experience, Ms. Ramos also served as in-house counsel for a construction company, where she managed corporate governance matters and ensured compliance with regulatory requirements.
Before joining QPWB, Ms. Ramos served as the Assistant General Counsel in the Emergency Action Unit at the Florida Department of Health Prosecution Services and the Assistant State Attorney in Florida's 3rd Judicial Circuit State Attorney's Office. In these roles, her leadership and collaborative approach were instrumental in fostering effective partnerships with law enforcement agencies and state entities like the Department of Juvenile Justice.
In 2017, Ms. Ramos attended Barry University School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor, with honors. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Central Florida, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in 2012, majoring in Psychology. Additionally, she received a Water Law Summer Program Certificate in 2016 from IHE Delft Institute for Water Education.
Ms. Ramos is licensed to practice law in Florida. Committed to giving back to her community through pro bono work, she has dedicated her time and expertise to organizations such as the Avian Reconditioning Center, where she volunteered in the animal care department. Furthermore, she spearheaded the annual fundraiser for H2O to Go, initiated by the Barry Environmental Law Society, aimed at raising funds for Florida communities facing clean water crises.
