Elizabeth S. Picou is an associate in the Chicago office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., where she focuses her practice on first and third-party property claims stemming from motor vehicle accidents as well as personal injury disputes. Her expertise extends to medical malpractice defense, insurance claims, and general litigation matters.

With a background as Staff Counsel for a leading auto insurance carrier, Ms. Picou brings nearly a decade of industry experience to her practice. During her tenure, she skillfully managed a personal caseload of approximately 80-90 files, handling lawsuits and first-party claims related to automobile accidents from initial referral to resolution. Her effective resolution of disputed claims spans a diverse range of unique and challenging cases, utilizing a skillful combination of negotiation, settlement conferences, arbitrations, mediations, and trials.

Ms. Picou is well-versed in reviewing and analyzing each lawsuit and claims file, providing a comprehensive litigation plan and cost-of-defense estimate. She has sharpened her oral discovery skills by preparing and presenting clients for depositions while also conducting depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, treating physicians, and retained expert witnesses.
