Euva D. May is an associate in the Louisville office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., where she specializes in civil litigation with a primary focus on the defense of appellate and personal injury cases. Ms. May brings a wealth of appellate practice experience and a distinguished background in providing legal representation for state and federal agencies. 

Leading up to her time at QPWB, Ms. May held various roles, including serving as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Attorney General of West Virginia, acting as the Deputy Chief Appellate Defender at the Louisville Metro Public Defender's Office, serving as the Central Staff Attorney for the Kentucky Supreme Court, and working as the Assistant Public Defender for the Department of Public Advocacy. In these capacities, she represented the states in criminal cases, dealt with extraordinary writs in Kentucky appellate courts, and oversaw direct appeals and post-conviction appeals in both state and federal courts. 

Notably, Ms. May began her appellate practice almost two decades ago at the Department of Public Advocacy. She held two positions, one as the Staff attorney where she prepared and submitted pleadings in support of direct appeal, including Appellant's Original Brief, Appellant's Reply Brief, Motions for Discretionary Review, Responses to Motions for Discretionary Review, Petitions for Rehearing, Motions to Supplement the Record, Motions for Extension of time, Writs in state courts, and Writs of Certiorari to the United States Supreme Court. She also supervised and managed the day-to-day activities of 7 staff attorneys and 2 support staff. 

Ms. May obtained her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Radford University in 1995. After her undergraduate studies, she earned her Juris Doctor from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in August 1998. 

She is licensed to practice law in Kentucky and West Virginia and is admitted to the Eastern District of Kentucky, Western District of Kentucky, Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
