Ferman M. Fernandez is a partner in the Orlando office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood and Boyer, P.A. Since 1994, he has dedicated his practice to the defense of workers' compensation matters for which he is an approved instructor with Florida's Department of Insurance. He is also experienced in the defense of liability actions and is also a member of the firm's appellate practice group.
He gained his litigation and supervisory experience trying cases and managing offices for the State Attorney, Attorney General, and the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps and was recognized and decorated for his service.
Prior to joining QPWB, he was the managing attorney for the Orlando office of a statewide workers compensation defense firm overseeing and handling all cases at both the trial and appellate levels.
Mr. Fernandez received his Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Jacksonville University in 1988 under an Army ROTC scholarship and his Juris Doctor from the Florida State University College of Law in 1991 serving on the school's award winning moot court program while on educational delay with the U.S. Army.
He is licensed to practice in Florida and has first chaired cases to final disposition before the Northern and Middle Districts in addition to the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, but has overseen litigation outside of the state as well.
He is highly rated by Martindale-Hubbell, America's Most Honored Professionals, Super Lawyers and various other honorary societies and rating system directories. He is also a frequent guest lecturer.
He is the firm's National Director for Pro Bono and Community Outreach Programs and has served with the Guardian Ad Litem, the Veterans Court, the Veterans Pro Bono Consortium and youth prison ministry. He is also involved with different chapters of 100 Black Men across the country, the Knights of Columbus, and the St. Joseph's Ministry.
