Florence Birungi is an associate at the San Francisco Bay Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She is a 2012 law graduate from Makerere University-Uganda, ranked as the number one university in East Africa. From 2012 to 2014, Ms. Birungi attended the Law Development Center in Kampala, Uganda, the top institution in the country that offers practical training to attorneys prior to licensure. Ms. Birungi is a Licensed Attorney in Uganda.
Additionally, Ms. Birungi is a Licensed nurse in California and Michigan, who emerged as the best student in her nursing class of 2022. Ms. Birungi passed the California Bar in 2024 and is a Licensed Attorney in good standing in California.
Ms. Birungi joined government practice in 2014 as an attorney in the ministry of internal affairs, Uganda. She thereafter worked at the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, Uganda as a criminal prosecutor from 2015-2018. Ms. Birungi successfully prosecuted several criminal cases from start to end and acquired extensive mediation and courtroom experience.
In the USA, Ms. Birungi has worked in different capacities in the health care field from 2019 to 2024, in both Michigan and California. After admission to the California Bar, she committed to handling insurance defense, professional malpractice defense, and medical malpractice defense cases.
Ms. Birungi's background in patient care allows her to approach healthcare litigation with a level of insight that sets her apart. Years spent working with and defending nurses, physicians, dentists and other healthcare professionals, bring a rare blend of clinical experience and legal judgment to every case. She also brings firsthand experience with acute care, hospice services, and the day-to-day realities medical providers face.
Throughout her education, Ms. Birungi participated in various leadership roles. Presently, she is a Board Member with the Barrister section of the Contra Costa Bar.
Aside from work, Ms. Birungi is passionate about her family, is the youngest out of 11 siblings, and is a mother to two beautiful girls. She spends her free time in the gym or with her daughters.
