Harry Chipeta Jr. is an associate in the Chicago office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. He is a litigator whose practice focuses on product liability, asbestos litigation, premises liability, complex civil litigation, and appellate matters in state and federal courts. He has represented national corporations, financial institutions, and various Illinois state agencies in high-exposure matters involving personal injury claims, toxic tort litigation, commercial disputes, and statutory claims.
Mr. Chipeta has substantial experience managing complex litigation from inception through resolution, including written discovery, fact and expert depositions, motion practice, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, and appeals. A significant portion of his practice has focused on product liability and asbestos litigation, where he has defended manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, and other corporate defendants in multi-plaintiff and multi-jurisdictional matters. His experience includes extensive witness examinations, product identification analysis, development of causation defenses, coordination of expert strategy, and analysis of medical and industrial evidence.
In addition to his product liability practice, Mr. Chipeta has represented various Illinois state agencies in civil litigation involving premises liability, personal injury claims, property loss disputes, and statutory reimbursement matters. He has successfully handled bench trials, dispositive motions, and complex discovery disputes, while consistently developing practical litigation strategies focused on efficient case resolution.
Mr. Chipeta has also worked on complex wrongful death litigation involving traumatic brain injury and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), including matters requiring extensive scientific and medical, substantial fact development, interstate discovery coordination, and analysis of alternative causation defenses.
His practice is further distinguished by significant appellate experience. Mr. Chipeta has argued before the Illinois Appellate Court and previously served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Justice P. Scott Neville and the Honorable Justice Carl A. Walker of the same court. During his clerkship, he reviewed civil and criminal appeals, analyzed complex legal issues, and assisted in drafting appellate opinions and orders.
Mr. Chipeta earned his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School, where he served as Lead Articles Editor for the John Marshall Law Review and received CALI Awards for Excellence in Constitutional Law and Civil Procedure. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Northern Illinois University.
