Ian Phillips

Ian Phillips is a partner in the Farmington Hills office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A.. He is an experienced lead attorney and financial professional who has represented clients in a wide array of legal matters, including securities law, employee benefits, and corporate law. His practice focuses on personal injury, corporate and securities law, employee benefits, contractual disputes, insurance defense, and trusts and estates.

A defining feature of his professional background is his ability to lead litigation teams and manage complex claims units. He has extensive experience in the insurance sector, having served as a lead attorney for a major insurance group's complex claims unit and as a principal attorney at a Michigan-based firm. Throughout his career, he has overseen diverse legal functions, from supervising associate teams in litigation to managing compliance and regulatory affairs for financial services entities.

His expertise is further distinguished by a strong foundation in corporate discovery and regulatory compliance. He has managed complex e-discovery and document review processes for major corporate cases involving issues such as corporate espionage and federal antitrust violations. Additionally, his background includes counseling non-profit corporations on formation and governance, as well as drafting essential corporate documents like restated articles of incorporation and bylaws.

He earned his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School in 2007, where he participated in the Nonprofit and Urban Corporations Development Clinic. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University in 2003.

Beyond his legal practice, he holds multiple financial industry licenses, including Series 7, 66, and 24, as well as certifications as a resident producer for life, accident, health, and property and casualty insurance.
