James J. Fater is an associate in the Jacksonville office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. He focuses his practice in the areas of general liability, motor vehicle liability, premises liability, first party property insurance defense, negligent security, medical malpractice defense, and professional malpractice. Mr. Fater represents insurance carriers and their insureds in all phases of pretrial claims, hearings, mediations, settlement negotiations and post litigation.
Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Fater handled large caseloads of personal injury litigation claims as an associate attorney with two civil litigation law offices in Jacksonville, Florida. He also worked as a volunteer attorney in county court with the Office of the Public Defender, Fourth Judicial District.
Mr. Fater received his Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law in May 2016 where he served on the executive board of the Environmental Law Society. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics, with a minor in marketing, from Fairfield University, Connecticut.
Outside the office, Mr. Fater enjoys the outdoors with surfing, golf, and ski trips with his family.
