James Hughes is an associate in the Atlanta Hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., primarily representing clients in the areas of insurance defense, including motor vehicle liability, underinsured/uninsured motorist coverage, commercial trucking, and premises liability. His experience extends to managing complex caseloads, preparing pleadings, drafting motions, conducting depositions, and defending clients in high-exposure litigation.
Mr. Hughes has been responsible for handling all aspects of litigation from pre-suit investigation to trial preparation. He has prepared several successful motions including Motions to Dismiss, Motions for Summary Judgment, and Motions to Open Default. He has also successfully argued motions before the Court including a Motion to Dismiss that was granted after oral arguments.
Mr. Hughes earned his Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2022. During law school, he was a staff member for the Wake Forest Journal of Business & Intellectual Property Law and contributed to Awaken: The Creative Journal of Contemporary Bioethics.
Before law school, Mr. Hughes graduated magna cum laude from the University of New Mexico where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History in just three years. He was awarded the Amigo Scholarship and participated in the UNM State Legislative Internship program where he gained valuable insight into legislative processes and policy development.
