Jeffrey M. Kolokoff is a partner in the Denver office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., and former County Court Judge and Acting Circuit Judge in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida. He is a litigation attorney practicing in the areas of insurance defense and coverage, health care litigation, long term care, medical malpractice defense, and criminal defense.
Mr. Kolokoff adjudicated approximately 10,000 misdemeanor, criminal traffic, DUI, and mental health cases during all phases, from first appearance to sentencing, as County Court Judge. He also presided over hundreds of felony matters including contested evidentiary hearings, discovery motions, motions to suppress, motions to dismiss, bench and jury trials as Acting Circuit Court Judge. During his term at the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, he was the most active jury trial judge in Miami-Dade County.
Previously, and for over seven years, he was a senior attorney with a South Florida litigation law firm where he zealously defended insurers against fraudulent claims as lead counsel, and prosecuted and defended real estate, land use, and civil litigation matters. Mr. Kolokoff served as an assistant state attorney with the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office for six years at the outset of his career where he prosecuted white-collar, narcotics, and violent crime and later supervised and trained junior attorneys.
Mr. Kolokoff received his Juris Doctor magna cum laude from Mercer University School of Law, Macon, Georgia in May 2006 and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania in January 2002. He graduated from law school with a Certificate in Advanced Legal Research, Writing and Drafting and was selected to membership in the Mercer Law Review. He was also a member of the Moot Court Board and served as Vice Chair of Finance.
He is licensed to practice law in Florida, Colorado, and the District of Columbia. Mr. Kolokoff is also admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida; U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces and U.S. Tax Court.
