Jennifer L. Fitch is a partner in the Orlando office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Fitch represents insurers, self-insureds, insurance carriers, and third party administrators in insurance coverage actions, and extra contractual and bad faith claims stemming from first-party property claims under commercial and homeowner policies, and third-party liability claims. Ms. Fitch is knowledgeable in handling actions involving policy interpretation matters and the application of policy exclusion arising from a wide variety of insurance products including general liability, construction defect, motor vehicle liability, premise liability, negligent security, and professional liability actions. Ms. Fitch's practice is also emphasized in catastrophic injuries and wrongful death claims arising from various alleged torts and other negligence and tort claims. Her experience is recognized in Best Lawyers, "Ones to Watch" in the areas of insurance law.
Before joining QPWB, Ms. Fitch was an attorney with a Florida based property insurance defense law firm where she was the insurance defense practice group partner representing first party property insurance defense and general liability matters. She favorably settled cases through negotiation, and through pretrial procedure securing dismissals, motions to compel, motions for summary judgment, and motions for protective orders. Ms. Fitch has represented numerous large insurance carriers in first party property matters. She has also represented construction companies in complex construction defect litigation in matters involving plumbing, stucco, house-wrap and HVAC matters. Prior to commencing private practice in 2013, Ms. Fitch was an assistant public defender with the Broward County Public Defender's Office representing juvenile clients in misdemeanor and felony charges.
Ms. Fitch received her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, Fort Lauderdale, Florida in May 2011; a Bachelor of Science from Nova Southeastern University, Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences, Fort Lauderdale, Florida in May 2008; and in August 2014, she was awarded a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Alabama School of Law.
Ms. Fitch is licensed to practice law in Florida and California (inactive status) and is a member of the U.S. District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.
