James B. Morrison is a partner in the West Palm Beach office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., and also practices from the firm's Jackson, Mississippi office. Mr. Morrison is a civil litigation attorney focusing in the areas of nursing home defense, medical malpractice, general liability, appeals, and employment law. Mr. Morrison handles all aspects of discovery, trial and appeals.
Over the years, Mr. Morrison's practice has focused on a wide range of insurance defense matters including wrongful death, motor vehicle liability, and insurance coverage. As lead counsel, he obtained summary judgment for a defendant in a malicious prosecution claim involving an automobile negligence case. Prior to joining QPWB, he was managing attorney of a Palm Beach Gardens law office, where he successfully defended nursing home and employment law cases. Prior to entering private practice in 2001, he was a staff attorney with the Florida Department of Insurance.
Mr. Morrison received his Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law in 2000 and Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Florida in 1996. While in law school, he was a member of Phi Delta Phi Honor Fraternity and served as a certified legal intern with the Agency for Health Care Administration.
Mr. Morrison is licensed to practice law in Florida and Mississippi. He is a member of the Trial Lawyers Section of The Florida Bar, and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi.
Mr. Morrison is active in both the Bar and in his legal profession and serves on the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division.
