John G. Alsobrook is a partner in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge offices of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. With over three decades of litigation experience, Mr. Alsobrook has successfully represented corporate clients, insurers, and business owners across a comprehensive array of defense matters in state and federal courts. His practice focuses on civil litigation, personal injury defense, general liability, trucking and transportation, hospitality and innkeeper defense, products liability, toxic torts, construction disputes, trademark disputes, premises liability, and insurance coverage litigation.
Throughout his career, Mr. Alsobrook has managed complex, high-exposure litigation from inception through trial and appellate resolution. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a partner, director, and senior litigation attorney at prominent regional and national defense firms in Louisiana. His trial practice spans catastrophic injury claims, traumatic brain injury defense, complex toxic torts, construction defects, and high-stakes commercial transportation accidents. He also routinely defends clients against specialized liability claims involving hotels, spas, pest control contractors, telecommunications, and trademark disputes.
Beyond his trial practice, Mr. Alsobrook advises corporate entities on risk mitigation, trademark registration, and umbrella insurance coverage disputes. He has extensive experience navigating alternative dispute resolution, successfully mediating and arbitrating complex commercial and personal injury matters. A seasoned appellate advocate, he has authored briefs and writs across all Louisiana appellate jurisdictions, the Louisiana Supreme Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. His appellate record includes notable victories, such as reversing a lower court's summary judgment in the Third Circuit Court of Appeals to keep co-defendants in a suit and securing a complete dismissal of a plaintiff’s claims in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
A long-standing figure in the Louisiana legal community, Mr. Alsobrook has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America for Personal Injury Litigation Defense in the New Orleans area every year from 2014 through 2025.
Mr. Alsobrook earned his Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School in 1990 and his Bachelor of Arts in History from Rhodes College in 1987.
He is licensed to practice law in Louisiana.
