John G. Underhill is an associate in the Nashville office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A He specializes in the defense of insurance claims, with a focus on general liability, premises liability, labor and employment matters, and automotive liability cases.
With a hands-on approach, Mr. Underhill independently manages all aspects of pretrial litigation, from conducting depositions to negotiating settlements and mediations on behalf of insurers. He handles high-volume caseloads in the New York State Supreme Court and New Jersey Superior Courts, demonstrating his ability to develop effective strategies and arguments from inception to trial.
Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Underhill served as an assistant prosecutor for the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office. In this role, he analyzed case strengths and weaknesses, developed litigation strategies, drafted motions, and provided counsel to law enforcement agencies on charging decisions.
Mr. Underhill is a graduate of Syracuse University College of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2019, and Saint Michael's College, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Economics in May of 2016.
He is licensed to practice in Tennessee, New York, and New Jersey.
