John J. Gerding is an associate in the Tampa office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., dedicating his practice to insurance defense litigation with key areas of concentration in first and third-party property, general liability, automotive liability, product liability, personal injury, and insurance fraud. In these areas, Mr. Gerding provides representation and counsel to individuals, carriers, manufacturers, and corporate clients through a range of matters such as drafting contracts and agreements, site inspections, vehicle purchase documentation, and medical records.
Mr. Gerding has significant experience managing more than 150 cases while handling all aspects of litigation and pre-litigation matters in Florida State Courts and regularly communicating with clients regarding case activities, status, and company objectives. When navigating insurance and manufacturing litigation, he collaborates with industry professionals and experts on issues such as breach of contract, breach of warranty, unfair trade practices, consumer protection, and repair history. His responsibilities also include analyzing and summarizing deposition transcripts and subpoena records, as well as drafting pleadings, discovery documents, memoranda, and evaluative correspondence to clients.
A graduate of Illinois College with a Bachelor of Science in International Studies and a minor in Spanish in 2014, Mr. Gerding furthered his education by obtaining his Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2018. During his law school tenure, he gained practical experience as an extern for a personal injury law firm, where he shadowed supervising partners in depositions, hearings, and mediations.
He is licensed to practice law in Florida and is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association.
