John M. Beemer is an associate in the San Francisco Bay hub of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. He has a strong background in civil litigation defense, particularly in high-value personal injury, premises liability, construction defects, intellectual property defense, and general liability matters. Mr. Beemer has extensive experience representing major corporate clients in state and federal courts, handling cases from intake through trial. He is skilled in settlement negotiations, conducting depositions, drafting dispositive motions, and coordinating with experts to build robust defense strategies.
Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Beemer held various senior associate roles at firms throughout the Bay Area. Notably, he acted as outside counsel for a national warehouse retailer, collaborating closely with the corporate internal legal team to determine and implement cost-effective litigation strategies. Additionally, he assessed tender, coverage, and cross-complaint issues.
Mr. Beemer's practice includes considerable experience in criminal defense, general liability, construction defect defense, labor and employment, medical malpractice, and public entity labor defense. He has represented criminal defendants as defense counsel from arraignment to trial, independently managing a large caseload that included many misdemeanors and felonies. He also drafts motions at all stages of litigation, including those regarding pleadings, discovery, and dispositive motions.
In 2014, Mr. Beemer earned his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, with a concentration in Intellectual Property. He received the Best Brief Award in Moot Court and participated in the Startup Legal Garage InfoTech Module. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts from The Evergreen State College, where he received the Presidential Scholarship. Before that, he attended Seattle University's School of Nursing on scholarship and completed coursework at the University of Washington, focusing on sciences and architectural studies.
