John P. Prusik is a partner in the Chicago office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Prusik is a trial attorney with extensive jury trial experience in state and federal courts. Since 1979, he has focused in the areas of personal injury defense, insurance defense, medical and dental malpractice, products liability, construction negligence and construction defect litigation, and professional negligence claims against architects and engineers. His experience includes litigating and defending many complex liability cases on behalf of property owners, construction companies, medical professionals, and health care facilities. Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Prusik was a founding partner of Prusik Selby Daley & Kezelis, an insurance defense law firm in Chicago, established in 1994. Here, he represented a diverse client base in matters involving negligence, contract or statute in the areas of personal injury, economic loss or property loss. Specifically, Mr. Prusik represented major Chicago construction companies and self insured companies in complex technical litigation involving construction claims and product liability.
He began private practice in civil litigation when he joined the Chicago law firm of Crook & Gilligan in 1979; he later became a partner and through a merger, the firm became known as French & Rogers.
Mr. Prusik received his Juris Doctor from Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from law school in 1975, he worked with the Effingham County Public Defender. He served as assistant attorney general with the State of Illinois assigned to the Criminal Division, where he defended and prosecuted major felony cases including numerous murder trials; and was also an arbitrator with the Illinois Mandatory Arbitration Program.
Mr. Prusik is licensed to practice law in Illinois and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (including Trial Bar); the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois; U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh District; and U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Prusik is a graduate of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy; he is a member of the Society of Trial Lawyers. He serves as an arbitrator and has taught at the Insurance School of Chicago.
