John VanDenburgh is a Partner in the Merrillville office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. VanDenburgh represents general contractors, developers, construction professionals, and trucking companies in high-exposure disputes, including catastrophic loss and complex liability claims. He is an accomplished trial attorney who focuses his practice on construction and transportation litigation, commercial disputes, general liability, and insurance defense.
With over a decade of high-stakes litigation and leadership experience, Mr. VanDenburgh comprehensively manages legal matters from pre-suit rapid response through trial, emphasizing early case assessment and proactive risk management for corporate entities. Prior to joining QPWB, he established a distinguished track record of executive and legal management, serving as Partner and the Northwest Indiana Managing Partner for a prominent Midwest defense firm. During his tenure in this leadership role, he directed local office operations while personally steering complex defense strategies for high-exposure claims.
As a veteran first-chair trial attorney, his extensive background spans defending businesses and insurers against catastrophic loss and complex liability claims. His practice includes a wide array of disciplines, regularly defending clients against claims involving commercial contracts, construction defects, general negligence, premises liability, products liability, insurance coverage disputes, and medical malpractice.
Mr. VanDenburgh earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.), magna cum laude, from Valparaiso University School of Law. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business/Management from Purdue University.
Outside of his legal practice, he is dedicated to civic engagement and supporting local organizations, having previously served on the Executive Board of Directors for the Duneland Family YMCA.
He is licensed to practice in Indiana and Illinois.
